Nestled within the serene landscapes of the East Bay Hills, California, lies our latest architectural endeavor. Perched majestically on a sun-kissed hillside, our project offers a panoramic vista overlooking the valley below. With nature as our canvas and innovation as our guiding compass, we embark on a journey to harmonize contemporary design with the organic beauty of the surrounding terrain.

In this unique undertaking, we strive to create not just a structure, but an immersive experience where architecture seamlessly intertwines with its natural surroundings.

Our vision is inspired by the undulating contours of the land, the play of light and shadow, and the gentle whispers of the breeze that dance through the hills.

We are very proud that an EXTREMELY traditional HOA board approved this project! We were given an 83-page “design guideline” document at the start that limited new residences to hyper-stylistic exteriors. “English country,” “French Eclectic,” “Tuscan/ Mediterranean,” and “California craftsman” with detailed instructions on how to best imitate each one…

They also “wished us luck” when they saw our first sketches, as I quote: “A modern project has never been approved by this board” 😄

I should note that this neighborhood does NOT have a defined architectural character. The nearest houses are a mix of Spanish gables, modern boxes and incongruent styles…

So instead of fighting them on their historic guidelines, we met with their board and advocated to add provisions for Vernacular Architecture that is befitting of CONTEXT rather than STYLE, that follows LOGIC over TRADITIONS, and that is ultimately GOOD, HONEST ARCHITECTURE.

Multi-layered spaces for multi-generational living.
